Musée du Louvre is a museum in Paris. It occupies a large part of the Louvre Palace along the banks of the Seine. It is the most visited and one of the most famous museums in the world. The size of the exhibition space is the third largest museum in the world. The museum was opened on August 10, 1793, but the foundation of the collection was created by King Francis I.
