The city of Zurich is a global center of banking and finance and is located at the northern end of Lake Zurich in the north of Switzerland. The picturesque streets of the old town on both sides of the Limmat are evidence of pre-medieval city history. The Landesmuseum in Zurich traces the Swiss culture for thousands of years. The Cabaret Voltaire is a café with bar, was the birthplace of the Dada art movement in 1916 and is still operated today. Works by modern artists such as Alberto Giacometti are shown in the Kunsthaus.
